Walking On Broken Glass: Annie Lennox

"Walking on Broken Glass" is a song written and performed by Scottish singer Annie Lennox, taken from her 1992 album, Diva. This song reached #1 in Canada, #8 in the United Kingdom and Ireland and #14 in the United States singles charts. for more information, visit http://en.wikipedia.org

It's a cute song with a moderately fast rhythm in C Major with 4/4 time signature. Another popular song from this artist is Sweet Dreams Are Made of This. I had read that Annie Lennox started playing the flute at 17 in the Royal Academy of Music in London and now she is a very successful solo artist!

My whole life has crashed

'Cause it feels just like I'm walking on broken glass...

And I've got so little left to lose
 C/G        G                                                   C  C/E  F  C/E  F  C/E  G
That it feels just like I'm walking on broken glass...
(Walking on walking on broken glass)

 Dm9                        Bb           F
And if you're trying to cut me down
You know that I might bleed.
C /F        B     Am/F
'Cause if you're trying to cut me down
I know that you'll succeed...
And if you want to hurt me
There's nothing left to fear
'Cause if you want to hurt me
C/F     B   Gsus4              G
You do it really well my dear...

Now everyone of us was made to suffer
Everyone of us is made to weep
We've been hurting one another
And now the pain has cut too deep...
So take me from the wreckage
Save me from the blast
Lift me up and take me back
Don't let me keep on walking...
Walking on broken glass.
Don't let me keep on walking.
(Walking on walking on broken glass)
