Young At Heart: Chords and Lyrics

Frank Sinatra: Young At Heart l LadyDpiano

Johnny Richards was a jazz arranger and composer in the mid-20th century of United States. He wrote the music to Young At Heart in ©1954. Carolyn Leigh was an American lyricist and wrote the words to this beautiful song. My mother loved the famous crooner voice of Frank Sinatra and I especially like this song. I've heard it sung by other pop artists and it sounds wonderful.

Chords and Lyrics ( Young At Heart)

Key: Bb
Time: 4/4 Slowly

           Bb
Fairy tales can come true
                                 E dim      Cm7
It can happen to you if you're young at heart
             F7                 Cm7
For it's hard, you will find
           F7            F9                    Bb
To be narrow of mind if you're young at heart
               Fsus            G7           Fm6        G7
You can go to extremes with impossible schemes
    G+7    C9                        C7               C9              C7
You can laugh when your dreams fall apart at the seams
        F7         Bdim      F7    Bdim         F7        Cm7
And life gets more exciting with each passing day
F9    Bb6    F#dim  Bb6     F37      Cm7   F7
And love is either in your heart or on the way
                 Bb
Don't you know that it's worth
                                  Edim     Cm7
Every treasure on earth to be young at heart
            F7             Cm7
For as rich as you are
                F7          F9  F+9   Bb
It's much better by far to be young at heart

           Fm6                 G7         Fm6             G7 G+7
And if you should survive to a hundred and five
              C9             C7            Eb         Ebm
Look at all you'll derive out of being alive
        Bb                              F7              Cm7   F7
And here is the best part, you have a head start
Bb      Bb6       Eb6     Edim   Cm7 F9  Bb
If you are among the very young at heart

I guess if I am working my way around the chord progression to the song, I would play a few chords like this:

L.H. / R.H.

Bb = BbF/EBbD and Bb/DFA and BbBb/DFGBb
E dim = Db/BbEA
Cm7 = C/BbEbG and CF/GBb
F7 = FF/AC and F/EbFA
F9 = FEb/ACG and F/ACEbG
F+9 = FEb/AC#G

C9 = CBb/EBbD
C7 = CBb/EbAC and CBb/EAbC
Bdim = B/DFG#
Bb6 = Bb/BbDG
F#dim = C/AEbF#
Bb6 = D/BbFG

F#7 = DbBbEbF#
Fm6 = DF/CAb
G7 = GF/BC#G
G+7 = G/EbG
Eb = Eb/EbGD
Ebm = BbD/EbGbEb
Eb6 = Eb/CGBb
