Learn To Play Take the Long Way Home by Supertramp

Now I know who Roger Hodgson is! A friend from Norway sent me a video of his and I admired his keyboard playing and unforgettable voice.

"Roger Hodgson has been recognized as one of the most gifted composers, song writers and lyricists of our time. As the legendary voice of Supertramp and composer of the band’s greatest hits, he gave us “Give a Little Bit”, “The Logical Song”, “Dreamer”, “Take the Long Way Home”, “Breakfast In America”, “It’s Raining Again”, “School”, and “Fools Overture” and so many others that have become the soundtrack of our lives. His trademark way of setting beautiful introspective lyrics to upbeat melodies resonated and found its way into the hearts and minds of people from cultures around the world. His songs have remarkably stood the test of time and earned Roger and Supertramp an adoring worldwide following." For more of the article:

"Charles Roger Pomfret Hodgson, born 21 March 1950, in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England is a British vocalist and musician, and he was one of the founding members of the progressive rock group Supertramp. He is recognised for his high-pitched singing voice, which became a trademark for Supertramp, and often writes about somewhat spiritual and philosophical topics. He's been given the nickname of Mr. Supertramp by fans."

(1969-1983) Supertramp

As a copyright agreement similar to Lennon/McCartney with The Beatles, almost all Supertramp songs were credited to Davies and Hodgson, regardless of who actually wrote them, but, the person you hear singing the song is the person who wrote it. Roger Hodgson is the main writer of well known hits such as "The Logical Song", "Dreamer", "Give A Little Bit", "Breakfast in America", "It's Raining Again", "Take the Long Way Home" and "Fool's Overture".

Supertramp Wikipedia:

"Supertramp were a British progressive rock band that released a series of top-selling albums in the 1970s and early 1980s.

Their early music included ambitious concept albums, from which were drawn a number of hits including "Bloody Well Right", "Dreamer", "Goodbye Stranger", "Give a Little Bit", and "The Logical Song". Supertramp attained superstardom[citation needed] in the United States, Canada, most of Europe, and Brazil, although they were not quite as popular in their home country, the UK. Nonetheless, the album Breakfast in America was a big hit there, reaching number three on the UK charts and featuring two top 10 singles." Read more:
